During the covid challenges 2020 posed for the hospitality industry, our Sudima client pressed on with the completion of their new flagship Auckland hotel right in the heart of the city. We provided site specific designs and were chosen to supply and install the glass canopy, the glass atrium, as well as the balustrade for their rooftop cocktail bar, the Sunset Bar.
Covid restrictions meant that we had restricted work hours, and so all work had to be carried out overnight, basically during the hours of 9pm to 5am. Multiple cranes were used to crane the glass on to site.
Being based in the Auckland CBD, at the intersection of two very busy streets and because the glass had to be craned in, required the involvement of Traffic Management as the central city location required that the roads be closed off.
